The Wasatch Range offers a wide variety of climbing, and all types of rock, in one place! Climbers will discover a huge diversity of options, from easy slabs, and fun cracks, to steep and overhanging cruxes. There is no other climbing destination in the USA that offers such a diversity of climbing in a small area: we encounter both granite, quartzite AND limestone in the Big and Little Canyon, so it is no wonder climbers come here to experience the Wasatch’s truly incredible climbs.
Our rock climbing courses expose new climbers to fundamental climbing skills that are difficult to learn in the gym. Whether you’re progressing toward becoming an independent outdoor climber or you just want to be comfortable assessing others use of climbing anchors and single pitch systems, WMG’s courses will teach you the skills and have you put them to use. Our kid’s rock climbing clinics allow us to spend time outside and expend some of that extra energy! Developing new skills that demand responsibility and safety.
Or why not try one of our epic 1 to 2-day traverses! Or an ascent of the South Ridge of local emblem Mount Superior. Depending on the time of the year and the conditions, Superior can be a full day of relatively easy alpine rock climbing in a stunning alpine environment, or a tougher snowier day filled with a range of challenges that will require a strong desire to succeed!
At WMG we combine extensive qualifications with decades of accrued experience, combined with a deep-held understanding and love for nature, and a dedication to protecting the wilderness areas we visit. Come and experience the perfect adventure this summer in this pristine environment.

- we can currently accept private groups only
- no car pooling
- hand hygiene measures at regular intervals
- avoid touching face
- masks where possible or sensible e.g. at belays
- social distancing of 6 feet minimum
- flexible plans, declaration of any symptoms whatsoever

- clear safely briefings
- shared gear will be disinfected in the sun or washed between use
- Leave No Trace
We urge everyone heading out to enjoy the outdoors to be mindful of how their individual actions reflect on the whole outdoor community. The key will be for individuals to take a sensible approach to their activities, use your judgement to manage the risks, and to consider the social responsibility we all have to each other, to protecting our emergency services and to minimise the transmission of COVID-19.
- Be prepared: Some car parks, toilets and other facilities may remain closed
- Be considerate: Think about how your actions might impact on others
- Be COVID aware: keep hygiene in mind at all times, and avoid sharing food, and drink with others

Purchasing your own gear is a great step to take, but we do have gear to lend at no additional cost, on a first come first serve basis.

A packed lunch is required for full day trips, and for half days no, but in any case we do require you to bring plenty of snacks and water along.
