Lodge-to-lodge hiking in the Wasatch Mountains offers a unique and thrilling adventure. You can explore some of the area’s most stunning hikes while staying in comfortable lodges.

Overview

This 3-day guided hiking trip connects three of Utah’s iconic mountain destinations—Little Cottonwood Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, and Park City—by foot and scenic backroads. Each night, you’ll relax at a cozy mountain lodge with showers, beds, and great food, while your guide leads the way on moderate, scenic trails by day. We’ll handle the logistics—so you can focus on the views.

There are various version of this Lodge to Lodge hiking trip. Below is just one example. We will accommodate the trip based on your experience and goals, as well as what is most suitable for the season.

Day 1: Hike from White Pine Trailhead to Snowbird

Your trip begins with a beautiful alpine hike from the White Pine Trailhead in Little Cottonwood Canyon to the base area of Snowbird Resort. After your hike, unwind at the Cliff Lodge, complete with a rooftop spa and on-site dining.
Overnight: Cliff Lodge at Snowbird (or similar)

Day 2: Hike from Snowbird to Silver Fork Lodge

After breakfast, head out on a scenic traverse into Big Cottonwood Canyon. The day ends at Silver Fork Lodge, a classic mountain inn with a great restaurant and rustic charm.

Day 3: Hike into Park City from Guardsman Pass

Your guide will drive you to nearby Guardsman Pass, where you’ll begin a gentle descent into the aspen-covered hills above Park City. The trip ends in town—perfect for lunch or a post-hike drink before heading home.

Day 4 (optional):

Alpine Climbing Objectives:

  • Toledo Ridge 5.6 has 4-5 short pitches of technical climbing.  (3-5 hrs, 5 mi, 2500’ up and down)
  • Mt. Superior’s SW ridge 5.6, steep hiking off trail to a long technical section of 5th class scrambling with the most complicated move at 5.6.  We will descend the East ridge (6-7 hrs, 5 mi, 2700’ up and down)

  • East Ridge of Superior – class 4 scrambling (3-4 hrs, 4.5 mi, 2500’ up and down)

  • Regular guide rates apply and are dependent on the number of people. Guide ratios are lower for the technical Alpine climbs.
